Reed Krakoff Boar Hair Sandals

When I first learned about the Reed Krakoff collection and saw it on the Runway, I loved the collection from day one. Reed Krakoff knows how to make a great looking bag and a pair of trousers. When I learned he was making shoes, I could not wait to see the collection.

This sandal was not exactly what I expected. This pair of boar hair sandals is interesting. I like the heel height and the chunky square heel. But, the boars hair that surrounds the ankle, how is that a good idea and how is that flattering? I am not really sure. Can you imagine wearing this with a skirt? Usually I like my sandals to be as simple as possible. My feeling is that if there is too much around the ankles it cuts the leg off and makes your legs seem shorter. Do any of us really want that? Now, I can see this on a 6 foot model with 4 feet of legs. Sure she can afford to wear something like this with a pair of white trouser shorts and a button up shirt. But, the rest of us really cannot carry this look off without people laughing when we walk by them. What do you think? Do you love it or hate it?
